Hamburg Supervisor James M. Shaw endorsed Angela Marinucci for Erie County Clerk today.
Marinucci is an attorney and small business owner. Shaw cited her private sector experience
and her plans to expand the use of technology to cut wait times and improve services for
customers. Marinucci wants to offer individuals access to more of their documents online, cut
the pistol permit backlog, and expand the Child ID program to allow parents to include their
child’s health information.
“The Clerk’s Office has been frozen in time since Kathy Hochul left in 2011,” said Shaw.
“We need a leader with a fresh perspective who is willing to make real changes to the
operation of that office. Angela will bring the Clerk’s Office up-to-date. As a product of the
private sector, she values our time and money, and will ensure that neither are wasted.”
“The County Clerk’s office plays a key role in so many major milestones: starting a business,
buying a home, and getting a driver’s license,” said Marinucci. “As an attorney, I have spent my
career helping my clients navigate complex governmental systems, and I want to use those
skills to help the residents of Erie County in the Clerk’s office. I am committed to ensuring that
our tax dollars are spent wisely. Before elected officials ask for more money or more staff, they
must ensure that they are making full use of the resources they are given.”
Marinucci has also been endorsed by Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, the Western New York AFL-
CIO, The Women’s TAP Fund, United Auto Workers and Buffalo Building Trades. She lives on
Grand Island with her husband and three daughters.
