City of Buffalo Comptroller Mark J. F. Schroeder endorsed Angela Marinucci for Erie County Clerk today. Schroeder says that his support for Marinucci is based on her professional credentials and ideas for upgrading technology and improving customer service at the Clerk’s Office.
Marinucci wants to offer individuals access to more of their documents online, cut the pistol permit backlog, and expand the Child ID program to allow parents to include their child’s health information.
“I first met Angela several months ago and was immediately impressed with her knowledge of the Clerk’s Office and her commitment to bringing it into the 21st century,” said Schroeder. “She understands that our time is valuable and has plans to speed up processes and enable us to access more of our information from home. Her background as an attorney and small business owner will help to restore much needed professionalism to county government.”
“The County Clerk’s office plays a key role in so many major milestones in people’s lives: starting a business, buying a home, and getting a driver’s license,” Marinucci said. “As someone who helps run a family business and a household with three children, I know that the Clerk’s office must be a place where politics never gets in the way of public service, where long lines and inefficiency are simply unacceptable. Our time and tax dollars are too valuable to waste.”
Marinucci has also been endorsed by Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, the Western New York AFL-CIO, The Women’s TAP Fund, United Auto Workers and Buffalo Building Trades. She lives on Grand Island with her husband and three daughters.
